Piano - Artistic Direction

Maria-Ioanna Anastasiou, having lived for many years in Athens and Paris and having settled permanently in Megara, wanted to establish a Conservatory to the standards of the best conservatories in Greece and abroad, where she studied and worked.

Her goal is to create a cradle of culture and cultivation of aesthetics and to transfer to young people her knowledge and experience in music. Her wish is for all the students of the EFPALINEIO CONSERVATORY to acquire spiritual and mental supplies.

Maria-Ioanna Anastasiou was born in Athens – Greece. She has obtained Teaching Diploma and Soloist Diploma with the grade “excellent with the unanimus vote of the examiners and their special honours” at the Model and Experimental Conservatory (Athens) with professor G. Kakalis. She studied in Paris – France (for 4 years) at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris & at the Conservatoire de Musique de Paris with professors R. Yassa and N. Wright obtaining the Diploma Brevet Superieur. She studied equally piano technique and interpretation with professor L. Boyadjieva and obtained the Diploma de Premier Prix de Superieur from the Municipal Conservatory of Villepinte in Paris – France.

She has studied Jazz imrovisation with professor S. Abenaim founder of the Bill Evans Academie. She participated in seminars and Masterclasses with famous pianists (N. Petrof, Ox. Yablonskaya, P. Volpe, L. Fleisher, M. Grudeli, C. Katsaris, G. Chatzinikos, J. Cl. Pennetier, J. Ph. Collard etc).

She has given many recitals and concerts of Chamber Music in Greece and other countries. She is a member of Trio Incanto (piano, flute, basson) and Trio Anima (piano, flute, cello). She teaches the piano since 1986 in Greece and in France. She has been professor at the Model and Experimental Conservatory (Athens), director of the class of the piano in Music School N. Paganini and since 1995 she has been professor at the Hellenic Conservatory of N. Suburbs.
