The name «EFPALINEIO CONSERVATORY»

The EFPALINEIO CONSERVATORY was named Efpalinian because Efpalinos was one of the most important Megarians in antiquity, an architect and engineer, the son of Naustrophos (according to Herodotus) whose most important works were the construction of tunnels for the water supply of cities with the Efpalinian trench being the his best known achievement.

As water is the most important good for “life”, so music is the most important good for “well-being”.

The EFPALINEIO CONSERVATORY wishes to become the conduit that will convey the true essence of music to young people, which is the expression of everything in a universal language.
